Yes, for your convenience we can direct bill the following insurance companies: Alberta

Once I start will I have to keep coming?

A.

As with anything in your life, how long you benefit from chiropractic care is up to you. Remember you’re the boss. Some patients rely on chiropractic care to help manage episodes of back pain and other injuries. Others find it very helpful to include chiropractic as part of their ongoing wellness care. In the end, it’s always your choice to make.

Will I need x-rays?

A.

X-rays can play an important role in diagnosis and are taken when a need has been determined after taking a patient case history and conducting a physical examination. However if your condition can be diagnosed without the use of x-rays, none will be taken. x-rays are covered 100% by Alberta Health Care.

How does the Dr. adjust?

A.

Dr. Kevin is highly skilled in a variety of postural adjustments. Some patients respond better to the Impulse adjusting instrument that offers a gentler adjustment. While others may prefer a deeper, hands on approach. Dr. Kevin will work closely with you to find the technique that works best for you.

Does Laser Therapy hurt?

A.

No. LLLT is painless. In fact, most people describe the treatment as relaxing.

Is you massage therapist registered?

A.

Yes, we only employ registered massage therapists at Barlow Centre. You can feel confident knowing that your massage therapist has the required training, years of experience and clinical expertise. The information your insurance company requires for payment will be provided on your receipt.

Do we take walk-ins?

A.

We will make every effort to accept a walk-in patient however it’s not always possible. The last thing we want to do is keep scheduled patients waiting. It’s always best to book your appointment in advance.

Do I need a referral to see the Chiropractor ?

A.

No. Chiropractors are primary contact health care practitioners and therefore you do not need a referral from a medical doctor for coverage with your insurance plan. Because Chiropractors have a doctoral degree and at least 7 years of post secondary education they are able serve you without the inconvenience of getting a referral.

How long is a new patient appointment?

A.

You’re first visit will take anywhere from 45-60 minutes as it will involve a thorough consultation, posture evaluation and physical exam.

Will I be adjusted on my first visit?

A.

We want you to feel better quickly so if the doctor determines that you will benefit from chiropractic care an adjustment will be provided at your first appointment.

How, long does a laser session last?

A.

A typical laser therapy session lasts 45 minutes.

How many laser appointments do I need?

A.

The number of treatment sessions will vary depending on your condition, however the results of laser therapy treatment are cumulative and 6-12 treatments are typically required.
